Mini-Float Parade Competition

Competition Details

This Year's Theme: “Wonders of the World”

Floats must be “human powered” (pulled in the parade), and parked in the designated display area after the parade for public viewing and voting for the People’s Choice Award.

All floats will also be judged by a panel of judges with prizes awarded in each category, as well as a Grand Champion Trophy. Let’s make this year’s parade one to remember!

Dimensions and Requirements

  • Maximum size platform: 4’ x 6’ (built on a child size wagon, cart, or grocery cart)
  • Maximum height 10’ (measured from the ground up (not the cart platform)
  • Must represent the theme “Wonders of the World” and represent a country or specific culture.

  • University student organizations
  • University departments
  • Non-profit Community organizations
  • Commercial businesses
  • K-12 School entries (individual schools, or school clubs)

People's Choice Voting

1, 2, 3, 4. We declare a penny war! Put your spare change toward a great cause. All proceeds from our People’s Choice voting will be donated to CASA of South Central Missouri. Voting takes place in the display area, beginning after the parade and going until 3 p.m. 


Winners Announcement

Winners for each category as well as the people's choice will be announced at 3:45 p.m. from the Band Shell stage.

Sponsors Welcome

Local businesses can partner with student groups to help offset the cost of creating the mini-float. Sponsorships start at the World Traveler $200 level ($100 must be cash, with the remaining amount of “in-kind” assistance to the organization creating the entry).

Floats receiving support must include a “sponsored by” signage. Scan the code below to sign-up as a business partner for an organization in the mini-float competition.
